The story went viral earlier this week thanks to the former general claiming, among other things, that President Donald Trump had nearly accidentally revealed the existence of the aliens and their "Galactic Federation" to the world too early.
It's a fun, weird story but, Hayes Brown ponders in his latest essay, do we really want aliens to meet this version of humanity? It's probably better for them to keep on flying past our solar system, Brown argues — we've got a lot of work to do before they show up.
