Fruits are among my favorite foods but the health and fitness industry often demonizes them for their sugar content. I find that maddening. Putting apples and Oreos in the same category is just wrong. So I was glad to see today’s Health & Wellness story that addressed the question about fruit in sugar and listed 17 fruits that are delicious and good for us. Several of my favorites made the list, including blueberries, lemons, avocados and mangoes. I top my salads with blueberries and add them to smoothies. I garnish my morning eggs with avocado (and Tabasco). I drink lemon-flavored water throughout the day. And when they’re in season, mangoes sprinkled with li-hing mui powder are my go-to afternoon snack (just a light dusting of li-hing mui -- it’s very salty). How do you take your fruit? I’d love some ideas. Let me know! And if you enjoy this brief, tell others so they can benefit also.
