UP ON THE ROOF: Hurricane Ida damaged as many as 80,000 roofs in southeast Louisiana. But before many of the property owners could tarp the damage - much less fix the roof - Tropical Storm Nicholas arrived, dumping several more inches of rain on soggy roof decks, felt and shingles and causing leaks inside.
DOMESTIC VIOLENCE: An employee of the Orleans Parish district attorney’s office barged into a Warehouse District condominium where his ex-lover was with another man, fired a gun at one of them then shot himself to death. Police classified it as an attempted murder and suicide.
