+ ICY SURPRISES AT ROSETTA'S COMET
As Rosetta's comet approached its most active period last year, the spacecraft spotted carbon dioxide ice - never before seen on a comet - followed by the emergence of two unusually large patches of water ice.

We fly ESA's Gaia mission to map 1 billion stars. Ask us anything! On 21 November, starting at 16:00 CET, ESA will host a live 'Ask Me Anything' chat via Reddit featuring the Gaia flight control team and focusing on the art and science of mission operations.
