Bitcoin light clients can now sync to the tip of the blockchain nearly instantly thanks to a new development enabled by bitcoin startup ZeroSync and their work in zero-knowledge (ZK) proofs. ZeroSync's technology could also enable full nodes to achieve a much faster initial sync with perhaps even greater security assurances than Bitcoin Core's default setting. Fast syncs are fast.

In a rare public appearance, Bitcoin Ordinals creator Casey Rodarmor discussed his controversial project at the Ordinals Summit in Singapore. Rodarmor defended his decision to inscribe data on the Bitcoin blockchain, arguing that it is a legitimate use of the technology and that it can be used to create valuable digital assets. He also acknowledged the concerns of some Bitcoiners who believe that Ordinals will spam the blockchain and increase transaction fees.
