The first time I walked into a Litquake event, I saw community members of all ages, genders, races, and different walks of life, together in one place celebrating the written and spoken word. Litquake creates and fosters moments like that all the time, between writers and lovers of literature.
I'm Baruch Porras-Hernandez—I’ve not only appeared at Litquake events, I’ve helped curate and produce them, from programs at the Strut facility (SF AIDS Foundation), to the Poetic Tuesday series at Yerba Buena Gardens Festival, and big variety shows at the Lit Crawl.
Litquake has helped me become a better writer and literary organizer. It is essential to the San Francisco literary community, especially during this time, that we all feel connected to each other, even from far away.
