| As many as 828 million people — about 10% of the global population — regularly go to bed hungry. Economic shocks, extreme weather events, and conflicts like the war in Ukraine have restricted global food supplies, driven up prices, and presented a threat to vulnerable populations and countries. Motivated by our faith in Jesus Christ, World Vision is committed to working in some of the world’s toughest places, helping ensure vulnerable children and families have access to tools they need to thrive. Child sponsorship is critical to the effort. Here’s how it works: In-country staff connect with local leaders and parents to determine needs in communities, and the community nominates vulnerable children for the sponsorship program. Children are then matched with a sponsor who can connect with them through monthly donations, letter writing, and prayers. Our sponsorship programs are currently in more than 15 countries facing the hunger crisis, including Haiti, Kenya, and Guatemala. | |
|
| A cool bonus: It’s not just the one child who benefits from your generosity, but their whole community too.Your monthly sponsorship gift is combined with other donations to invest in locally tailored solutions and long-term access to essentials — like food — for your sponsored child, their family, and other vulnerable kids. Help protect vulnerable children — and their futures — by equipping them to address threats like hunger. When you say ”yes” to a child, you say ”no” to hunger. | |
