The good news is, we have enough money to pay for our new building program. The bad news is, the money is still out there in your pockets." ___________________________________________________ If you can help with the cost of the Humor Letter, please donate what you can! ___________________________________________________ ___________________________________________________ A graduate in economics who completed his degree in the 1950's returned to his old university for a visit. He was amazed to see that the examination questions were identical to the ones asked in his day. When he pointed this out to a member of staff, he replied, "That's true, but, of course, the answers are completely different now." ________________________________________________ A Bonehead award has been reported by Rock Danny Tiner, 36, Phoenix, Arizona, USA TikToking trucker killed 5 A 36-year-old man has been arrested in connection to a deadly crash along the I-10 in Chandler that killed five people back in January. The deadly Jan. 12 incident happened on the eastbound lanes of the freeway near Chandler Boulevard. A commercial tractor- trailer hauling garbage rear-ended two cars after driving into stopped traffic, sandwiching them into the back of another semi, according to DPS. The Arizona Department of Public Safety announced in a news release that 36-year-old Danny G. Tiner was arrested at his home Thursday on multiple charges related to the January crash, including five counts of manslaughter. Danny Tiner, according to detectives, originally said he received a message on his electronic work tablet at the time of the crash and acknowledged the message. "Tiner said when he looked back up traffic was stopped, and he could not stop his vehicle in time to avoid a collision," read a portion of the statement. An investigation determined Tiner was driving 68 mph in a 55 mph construction zone and actively using TikTok on his cellphone right before the collision. Five people died as a result of the crash. Tiner, according to DPS, is accused of five counts of manslaughter, four counts of endangerment, and a count of tampering with physical evidence. ___________________________________________________ During exams at England's Cambridge University, a bright young student asks the proctor to bring him cakes and ale. "Sorry, no," says the proctor. "Sir, I really must insist," says the student, taking out a copy of the 400 year old Laws of Cambridge, written in Latin and still nominally in effect. He points to a section which reads (roughly translated): "Gentlemen sitting examinations may request and require cakes and ale." The proctor gives in, but since cakes and ale aren't readily available, he and the student agree that hamburgers and beer can be substituted, and the student sits there, writing his examination and happily slurping away. Three weeks later, the same student is fined five pounds for not wearing a sword to the examination. __________________________________________________ Here is an old favorite, requested again and again: Ode to the spellchecker Eye halve a spelling checker It came with my pea sea It plainly marks four my revue Miss steaks eye kin knot sea. One day the operator summed-up the nerve to ask him why the regularity. "I'm foreman of the local sawmill," he explained. "Every day I have to blow the whistle at noon, so I call you to get the exact time." The operator giggled, "That's really funny," she said. "All this time we've been setting our clock by your whistle. ___________________________________________________ From: Brenda Re: Wireless Connectivity Dear Webby, I am used to using the wireless modem in my laptop to connect to hotels where I am staying, and am fairly comfortable with the procedure. However, now and then it happens that I connect to the hotel's router, and see good signal strength, but can't get anywhere. What do you recommend in those cases? Brenda Dear Brenda Get your money back and go to a better hotel. They gambled on a 4 station router being enough, and you were #5. They rarely admit that and that type of hotel usually tries to blame it on your computer. It is NOT your computer's fault, and NOT your settings. Do not let them talk you into changing your settings, and don't let them waste your time, while they hope that somebody will log off. Just demand your money back and go to a better hotel. Without messing with your settings, you can usually get better connectivity from the parking lot of a Holiday Inn, than from the lobby of, for example, a Baymont Inn. When enough people smarten up and demand their money back, they will eventually get proper equipment and stop trying to blame you. Have FUN!
