The jury was out for several days before they returned with the manslaughter verdict. When Murphy paid the corrupt juror, he asked him if he had a very difficult time persuading the other jurors to see things his way. "Sure did," the juror replied, "the other eleven wanted to acquit." __________________________________________ Thanks to Jean for sending this picture: __________________________________________ There were hunters dragging their dead deer by the tail back to their truck. Another hunter approached pulling his along by the antlers. "Hey, I don't want to tell you how to do something," the fellow said, "but I can tell you that it's much easier if you drag the deer in the other direction. Then the antlers won't dig into the ground." The two decided to try it. A little while later one hunter said to the other, "You know, that guy was right. This is a lot easier." "Yeah," the other added, "but we're getting farther away from the truck." ___________________________________________________ An INTERNATIONAL BONEHEAD AWARD AND a DARWIN AWARD has been earned by Orange County deputies return fire, shoot man accused of kidnapping his girlfriend while out on bond Bryce Weir, 19, Orange County, Florida Deputies were not injured in a shootout with a 19-year-old man accused of holding his girlfriend at gunpoint Friday morning in east Orange County, Sheriff John Mina said. A fourth-grade teacher finds this out when she gives her pupils a lesson in logic. "Here is the situation," she says. "A man is standing up in a boat in the middle of a river, fishing. He loses his balance, falls in and begins splashing and yelling for help. His wife hears the commotion, knows he can't swim and runs down to the bank. Why do you think she ran to the bank?" Little Mary raises her hand. "To draw out all his savings?" _____________________________________________ A man sentenced to prison was put in a cell with an older convict who had been there for many years. One day, they were talking about their pasts, and the old man said, "Look at me. I'm old and worn out. You'd never believe that I used to live the life of Riley. I wintered on the Riviera, had a boat, four fine cars, the most beautiful women, and I ate in all the best restaurants of France." "What happened?" his new cellmate asked. "One day Riley reported his credit cards missing." ____________________________________________ An older gent had an appointment to see a urologist who shared an office with several other doctors. The waiting room was filled with patients. He approached the receptionist, a large, imposing woman who was built like a wrestler. The man gave her his name, and in a bellowing voice the receptionist said, "Yes, I see your name here. You want to see the doctor about impotence, right?" The heads of all the patients in the waiting room snapped around to look at the very embarrassed man. He recovered quickly, though, and in an equally loud voice replied, "No, I've come to inquire about a sex change operation--and I'd like the same doctor that did yours." ____________________________________________ No sermon and not suitable for church, just jokes and fun for grownups.
