"Doctor," he said, "I need you to cut off my dog's tail." The vet stepped back, "Bert, why should I do such a terrible thing?" "Because my mother-in-law's arriving tomorrow, and I don't want anything to make her think she's welcome." __________________________________________ __________________________________________ Ending his sermon, a preacher announced that he would preach on Noah and the Ark on the following Sunday, and gave the scriptural reference for the congregation to read ahead of time. A couple of boys noticed something interesting about the placement of the story in the Bible. They slipped into the church and glued two pages of the pulpit Bible together. The next Sunday, the preacher got up to read his text. "Noah took unto himself a wife," he began, "and she was" - he turned the page to continue - "three hundred cubits long, fifty wide and thirty high." He paused, scratched his head, turned the page back, read it silently, and turned the page again. Then he looked up at his congregation and said, "I've been reading this old Bible for near fifty years, but there are some things in it that are hard to believe." ___________________________________________________ An INTERNATIONAL BONEHEAD AWARD has been earned by Satoshi Uematsu, 30, Sagamihara Japan Ex-care worker who killed 19 people with disabilities sentenced to death A man who killed 19 and injured another 26 at a care home after writing disabled people only create unhappiness has been given the death penalty. Satoshi Uematsus massacre at Tsukui Yamayuri-en residential home, in Sagamihara, west of Tokyo, has been called Japans worst mass killing since the end of World War Two and has shook the country to the core. Uematsu, now 30, repeatedly said during the investigation and trial he had no regrets and was trying to help the world by killing people who he thought were burdens. He told medical staff and officials he was influenced by the ideas of Nazi leader Adolf Hitler, whose killings of people with disabilities were seen as intended to improve the perceived master race. The Yokohama District Court sentenced him to death by hanging on Monday. Executions are carried out in high secrecy in Japan, where prisoners are understood to not be informed of the date of their death until the morning. DearWebby's Tech Support Pits From: Lee Re: Spybot Premium Dear Webby, Following your advice over the months/years, I currently have Malwarebytes Premium and Spybot (free edition). Would it be useful to get the Spybot "home" or "professional" too? I ask the question only because when I run Spybot every month the "immunization" program seems to freeze after about 95% useage. I don't mind getting the paid editions of Spybot if you think they are a useful addition. Thanks, Lee Dear Lee Since you do have MalwareBytes Premium, there is no real need for Spybot-Search&Destroy. It has some neat tools, but they are entirely optional, and I think they are included in the free version. The freezing might be due to a hard drive problem. Do a complete back-up and then run a diskfix. Have FUN! DearWebby

When my sister returned from college, she noticed Mother's sign. Beneath it she taped her reply: "No -- door. Trust me. I went to college." That was when my sister was given full responsibility for the kitchen, cooking AND cleaning. ____________________________________________ Jill was out driving her car and while stopped at a red light, the car just died. It was a busy intersection and the traffic behind her starting growing. The guy in the car directly behind her started honking his horn continuously as Jill continued to try getting the car to start up again. Finally Jill gets out of her car and approaches the guy in the car behind her. "I can't seem to get my car started," Jill said, smiling. "Would you be a sweetheart and go and see if you can get it started for me. I'll stay here in your car and honk your horn like a demented moron for you." ____________________________________________ No sermon and not suitable for church, just jokes and fun for grownups.
