The six-year-old picked it up and said, "Hi, Daddy!" and she began telling him about her day. She then passed the phone to her brother and sister as was the custom whenever Daddy called from work. When it was finally the wife's turn to talk she took the receiver and said, "Hi, hon." "Thank God, lady," the voice on the other end replied. "I just called to tell you that your lawnmower is fixed" ___________________________________________________ If you can spare a coin, PLEASE hit PayPal with it! ___________________________________________________ Two elderly ladies had been friends for many decades. Over the years they had shared all kinds of activities and adventures. Lately, their activities had been limited to meeting a few times a week to play cards. One day they were playing cards when one looked at the other and said, "Now don't get mad at me . . . I know we've been friends for a long time, but I just can't think of your name! I've thought and thought, but I can't remember it. Please tell me what your name is." Her friend glared at her. For at least three minutes she just stared and glared at her. Finally she said, "How soon do you need to know?" ____________________________________________________ Iceland ___________________________________________________ Bambi, the pert young yuppie, filled her gas tank at a self service station. After she had paid and driven away, she realized she'd left the gas cap on top of her car. "Ooopsie," she said as she stopped and looked. Sure enough, it was lost. Mustering all her mental abilities she thought for a few minutes. "Surely I'm not the only young, beautiful, blonde woman to have done this," She muttered to herself. "Others must have done the same thing. Maybe if I drive back the way I came, I'll find a gas cap that will fit, or maybe even the one I lost." Bambi drove back down the street and sure enough, she found a gas cap laying by the side of the road. She tried it on, and it went into place with a satisfying "click." "WOW, this is SO COOL", Bambi said to no one in particular. "I lost my gas cap, but found one that fits. It's even better than my old one because this one automatically LOCKS!" ____________________________________________________ A woman, whose fondness for the good life had taken its toll in added pounds - and girth -was being shown a Jeep by a salesman at an auto dealership. When the salesman's pitch had run its course, he sought to close with the typical line, "Now what would it take to get you into one of these?" Looking at the Jeep's high front seat, the woman replied, "Probably a forklift." ___________________________________________________ Reported by Rock An INTERNATIONAL BONEHEAD AWARD has been earned by Marcellus McCluster, 64, in jail, Georgia, USA Georgia inmate charged decades later in 1982 murder of Army private The indictment charges against Marcellus McCluster is one count of malice murder and four alternative counts of felony murder, officials said. A convicted murderer serving a life sentence for an unrelated killing has been indicted by a Georgia grand jury in connection with the death of an Army private who was found dead on the side of a road from a gunshot blast decades ago. Marcellus McCluster, 64, was served with an arrest warrant for the death of Ren Dawn Blackmore at a correctional facility near Augusta, where he is incarcerated for a 1983 Stewart County murder conviction. The indictment charges him with one count of malice murder and four alternative counts of felony murder, officials said. Blackmore, 20, an Arizona native, was stationed at Fort Benning, Georgia when she disappeared on April 29, 1982. She vanished while on the way back to her barracks from Columbus, the town outside the military installation. A month later, her wallet and sweater were found on a roadside in nearby Cusseta, a few miles from the Army post. On June 28, 1982, Blackmores remains were found off a logging road a few miles south of Chattahoochee County, Vic Reynolds, director of the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, said during a Thursday news conference. It was determined she died from a shotgun blast. Kimberly Schwartz, an assistant district attorney for the Chattahoochee Judicial Circuit, noted there are no statute of limitations for murder. Out of all the crimes on all the books, this is the one crime that takes from the victim that fundamental right that we all have, which is the right to live out the rest of our lives that weve been given, she said. ____________________________________________________ If you can help with the cost of the Humor Letter, please donate what you can! ______________________________________________________ DearWebby's Tech Support Pits From: Clyde Re: Searching for a word in many files Dear Webby My attempts to search in W10 this afternoon seem to locate only files and not words in files (Microsoft Word 2010). I realize that version of Word is no longer supported. Could that be the problem or is it some setting I inadvertently changed. Clyde Dear Clyde I don't think WORD can do that. you can open a WORD file and search within that, but you can't tell it to search within the 27,647 word files you got. Good Luck! The cowboy preparing the horses asked if she wanted a Western or English saddle, and she asked what the difference was. He told her the Western saddle had a horn and the English one didn't. She replied, "The one without the horn is fine. I don't expect we'll run into too much traffic." ______________________________________________ Max sat at the bar totally dejected. The bartender served him his second drink and said, "What's wrong pal?" "I'll never understand women." Max said. "The other night my wife threw me a birthday party. She told me that later on, as her gift to me, I could do with her whatever I wanted." "Wow!" said the bartender. "But why so unhappy? That sounds like quite a gift to me." "Well, " Max went on, "I thought about it and sent her home to her Mother. Now she won't even speak to me." ______________________________________________ Ophelia Dingbatter's NewsNo sermon and not suitable for church, just jokes and fun for grownups.
