As she sat in the chair, the psychiatrist asked a series of questions to determine if she was emotionally suitable for the company. Things were not not going well for her. The psychiatrist decided to try a new approach, to give her one last chance. He asked, "if you could have a conversation with someone, living or dead, who would it be?" Cindy quickly responded, "the living one." ____________________________________________________ Teacher: If I had seven oranges in one hand and eight oranges in the other, what would I have? On Feb. 3, after the firearms investigation unit became aware that two people were in possession of illegal firearms and involved in drug trafficking, a traffic stop was conducted and a 37-year-old man was arrested. After searching the mans vehicle, officers found carfentanil, cocaine, methamphetamine and $1,980. Later that same day, a 34-year-old woman was arrested at a home in Belle Rive in northeast Edmonton. A search warrant of the home resulted in police seizing carfentanil, cocaine, methamphetamine, MDMA, ketamine and $65,000. A loaded Glock nine-mm handgun with a defaced serial number, numerous loose rounds of ammunition and two crossbows, including one small handheld crossbow that is prohibited, were also seized. In total, police seized 5,586 grams of meth with an estimated street value of $147,517, 583 grams of carfentanil with an estimated street value of $102,588, 222 grams of MDMA with an estimated street value of $11,725, and 191 grams of ketamine with an estimated street value of $9,550. Edmonton police said this seizure of carfentanil is the second largest seizure the service has ever seen. However, Sgt. Guy Pilon said carfentanil is not seen very often in seizures. Just because of the potency of carfentanil, were not seeing a tremendous amount, Pilon said. We had two large seizures since 2018 of carfentanil and the rest of the seizures that weve seen have involved fentanyl more so than carfentanil. Carfentanil is about 100 times more potent than fentanyl. Pilon said its always alarming to see the quantity of drugs seized that would have been sold and dispersed into the population. Its also alarming that it was found in conjunction with firearms and, as we all know, that drugs and firearms dont go well hand-in-hand and they often result in violence, he said. Gregory Lafleur, 37, is facing a total of 24 charges, including eight counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, as well as a number of firearms offences and failure to comply with recognizance charges. Samantha Whitrow, 34, is facing a total of nine charges, including five counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, as well as a number of firearms offences. DearWebby's Tech Support Pits From:Brad Re: No file extensions Dear Webby I have a problem telling different files apart because I usually give them the same name if they belong to the same project. At one time they used to have different last names after the decimal point, but with the current version of Windows those are gone and I can't tell if a file is a picture or the text describing it. Help! Brad Dear Brad In the File Explorer click on Organize, Layout, Folder Options, View. Take the checkmark off "Hide extensions for known file types" Hit Apply, and the extensions will show again. Have FUN! DearWebby This is a story about four people named: Everybody, Somebody, Anybody, and Nobody. There was an important job to be done and Everybody was asked to do it. I asked confused. "Umm, he's in the shower," she responded. "Please tell him his girlfriend called," I said and hung up. When he didn't return the call, I dialed again. This time a man answered. "This is Mike," he said. "You're not my boyfriend!" I exclaimed. "I know," he replied. "That's what I've been trying to tell my wife for the past half-hour." ____________________________________________ MILITARY WISDOM "A slipping gear could let your M203 grenade launcher fire when you least expect it. When I came out there was a motorcycle cop writing a parking ticket. So, I went up to him and said, "Come on, buddy, how about giving a guy a break?" He ignored me and continued writing the ticket. So I called him a pencil-necked Nazi. He glared at me and started writing another ticket for worn tires! So I called him a piece of horse s**t. He finished the second ticket and put it on the windshield with the first. Then he started writing a third ticket! This went on for about 20 minutes... the more I abused him, the more tickets he wrote. I didn't care. I had walked to the store. My ex now owns what used to be my car. I try to have a little fun each day. It's important. ____________________________________________ Ophelia Dingbatter's NewsNo sermon and not suitable for church, just jokes and fun for grownups.
