| Dear voornaam, As K-12 and higher education institutions undergo rapid digital modernization to continue educating despite the COVID-19 pandemic, they open themselves up to an increasing number of cybersecurity threats. K-12 students, teachers and staff are no longer within the four walls of the school building, leading to an expanded attack surface that cannot be protected by a traditional firewall. Higher education faces heightened risk as well as cybercriminals take advantage of vulnerabilities inherent in hybrid and distance learning. The Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act includes the Education Stabilization Fund, which provides $13.2 billion for elementary and secondary education and nearly $14 billion for higher education.
