Well, it’s decided. We’re keeping our kids remote for the first chunk of the school year. I swung into action late last week and bought my older son a desk from Ikea (turns out, desks are a hot commodity right now!) and a chair for his bedroom. And then I hit a wall. What else do my kids need to learn effectively this year?
That’s why I love this piece from senior reporter Catherine Pearson about how to set up a homeschool environment that actually works for kids. It’s a great primer on what to know as schools reopen and our kids resume Zoom classes.
Be safe and well everyone,
Kate |

Body image issues can start creeping up in kids at startlingly young ages. I’m personally very aware of how I talk about my body in front of my kids, even though I of course slip up. I love this piece by Caroline Bologna about what kids hear when you say certain things about your body in front of them. |
