Australia has been one of the most successful countries in the world at fighting COVID-19. |
| Dear Reader, Australia has been one of the most successful countries in the world at fighting COVID-19. We had (and could continue to have) some of the strictest lockdowns. We had consistent messages from both scientists and politicians. We had broad public support — when it was lacking in many other countries. Many in the US are now saying they have COVID-19 licked, too. But in one week at the start of May, they were still getting a daily average of 39,000 cases. That same week, we had just 13. That’s despite MUCH lower vaccination rates. But is it all good news for Aussies? How much has all this cost us? And what more will this fight KEEP costing us, further down the track? How sustainable IS this fortress we’ve built for ourselves? Whether you agree with the policy that got us to where we are right now is beside the point. The question is: What happens next? We have a good go at answering that in this video. Click here to watch it now. Regards, James Woodburn, Group Publisher |
