Soil pH is a measure of your soil chemistry. On a scale of 1 to 14, it measures whether soil is acidic or alkaline, with the middle range (7) being neutral. Your soil pH affects what nutrients are available to your plants, so at a different pH, different nutrients will be readily, or less readily, available. If a plant has a preference for a pH level, it probably has a preference for those nutrients that are readily available at that level. |
