Survey Results! This week, we asked what one item has caused your wallet the most pain during this time of inflation and why? Here are a few of the submissions we received:
Callie in Missouri: "I drive for Instacart. So gas prices have hit me really hard! Some days I'm not sure if it's worth it to go out and work. I have to be very picky about the jobs I accept. Gas prices have really cut into my profits."
Terri in Missouri: "Food prices. My husband and I have our two college student sons living with us and food prices have gone up tremendously. Our grocery bill has nearly doubled per week."
Rose in Florida: "My rent on my one-bedroom apartment went up $390 a month. I'm now living paycheck to paycheck."
Brenda in Indiana: "Property taxes. We downsized into a small retirement home. Because of inflated home values, we're now paying more in property taxes than we did in the four-bedroom, 4,000-square-foot family home that we left. Not what we had budgeted for in our retirement years."
Sherrill in Georgia: "Car prices. I decided against my first choice because I couldn't afford the monthly payments. I'm now driving a car that doesn't match my desired features and I'm still paying more monthly than I'd like to pay."
