Dear Writer's Digest Subscriber, I remember the moment my life changed forever. Eight years ago, I was 20 years old. I was on my laptop, sitting in the kitchen of a Swiss chalet in the Rocky Mountains ... It was a bright Saturday afternoon. The snow tumbled down in sparkly, fluffy clumps. Long's Peak towered at 14,000 feet out the window, its diamond-shaped face almost smiling. I was smiling, too ... I didn't know it then, but I was about to make the biggest investment decision I'd ever made in my life. I wasn't about to invest in the stock market ... or buy a house ... I was about to invest $297 in myself. It's a relatively tiny amount of money. But at the time, it was all I had. Actually, I didn't even “have” the money at all. I put it on a credit card so my parents wouldn't find out. Something inside me knew that it would be the best $297 I've ever spent ... You see, I was proud to call myself a writer. Like you, writing came to me like breathing. I remember as a kid, I stole my dad's old laptop so I could hole away in my room with my stories. As I grew up, all I wanted was to write my novels and live the writer's life. That's why I subscribed to Writer's Digest, just like you ... So I could learn to head off the competition ... get an agent ... and write great books that got published ... and hopefully, make a living doing what I loved. But then, reality set in ... Even with the useful and timely advice from Writer's Digest, I soon realized earning a good living as a “regular” writer would be difficult, if not impossible ... That's when I got an email not unlike the one you're reading now asking a very simple question: Can you write a letter like this one? Answer “Yes” and you'll never have to worry about your job or rely on others for your livelihood Instead, you will be in big demand, earning great money, writing a few hours a day from anywhere in the world you choose to live ... The letter was so straightforward, my answer was, “Of COURSE I can write a letter like that.” (You can see an example right here.) I decided right then and there to take a different writing path ... A path that 9 out of 10 writers simply don't know about. And as our cher frre Robert Frost said ... that's made all the difference. In short, I was VERY right to bet $297 on myself. I just tallied up my income since I started tracking it in 2012. (Sorry, I missed those first two years ...) Here are the screenshots from my real Google Drive spreadsheets that I've kept over the years (I've blurred out my clients’ names, for their privacy) ... I do have a professional accountant these days, but I keep my own ledgers just in case ... As you can see, the total is $548,849 from 2012 to March 2018. That's a 184,700% return on my initial investment. Math isn't my forte, but that seems pretty impressive to me! (How did I do it? Click here to find out ...) And here's the thing I've never been “published.” Not in the traditional sense, anyway. I don't have an agent. I don't report to an editor. And I don't bite my nails over whether a publisher is going to like my stuff ... Not at all. In fact, my writing skills are highly in-demand. I'm regularly booked months in advance for high-paying projects that are fascinating, fulfilling, and creatively challenging. The best part is, I have ultimate job security because I am in complete control. Even in an economic downturn, my skills would be more in-demand, not less ... So, what was my $297 investment? And how did I turn it into over half-a-million dollars in pure writing income ... in just a few years? Well, the thing is ... I'm not the only writer of my kind. Thousands of other writers just like me have taken this “alternate” path ... For example, my friend Pat McCord is one of them. All she wanted was to spend her days writing her novels in peace. Unfortunately, that's not easy if you also want to eat and pay a mortgage. So Pat did the same thing I did ... She invested in herself ... And went through a very simple online training program that taught her everything she needed to know to turn the writing skills she already had into a legitimate, six-figure business. This program taught both of us a few simple formulas to follow when writing these high-paying projects, how to run a real business, how to get clients, and so much more. And now, we both live the writer's life we wanted all along ... How did we do it? Pat explains everything right here. Very truly yours, Rae Robinson Direct-Response Copywriter P.S. From writer to writer, I hope that this is that same, life-changing moment for you ... I hope you'll look back in three ... five ... 10 years and say this was the moment everything changed. I was reading an email from a girl named Rae ... and a letter from a lady named Pat ... I decided to take a leap of faith ... to believe in my talent as a writer ... and to invest in myself. And that was the moment my life changed forever. If you're a writer, you owe it to yourself to at least educate yourself about this “alternate” writer's path that's available to you, right now.
