The need to hyper-personalize. The need to come up with solutions that scale in the face of rapid industry growth. The need to make the "holistic approach to financial planning" more than just a buzzy phrase tossed around to attract fresh prospects. The list of things advisors need to worry about on a daily basis is only getting longer. And without a little tech support — not the "did you try restarting it?" tech support, mind you — good luck getting any of it done. That was the topic this week as Envestnet's Dana D'Auria joined the Financial Planning podcast to discuss the top issues advisors are facing today and how technology can help fill some of the gaps. For her, sustainable investing, direct indexing and curated portfolios are top-of-mind topics that shouldn't be ignored. The 15-year industry veteran also joins the show amid a wave of executive-level changes at Envestnet — changes that directly impacted her. When it was announced in early June that Stuart DePina would relinquish the role of Envestnet president, D'Auria was also tapped to become group president and co-chief investment officer of Envestnet Solutions, heading up one of the company's three streamlined business lines. Since then, the Chicago-based tech firm and turnkey program has announced that Ron Ransom will head up Envestnet's newly established ESG office after years of serving as the organization's chief business development officer. D'Auria tackles Envestnet's new approach, the current state of wealthtech innovation and what she loves most about her job during our 26-minute discussion.
