| | A showcase for social impact The annual Ignite Capital Innovation Works Social Enterprise Investor Showcase is just around the corner, scheduled for September 15. This event will take place at the Talon Center, located on Coppin State University's Campus. I received a quick email from Lindsey Henley, a portfolio manager with Ignite Capital who provided some insight into what attendees can expect. It sounds like it's going to be a dynamic and highly informative day. The action begins with breakfast at 8:30 a.m., featuring coffee, juice, bagels and pastries. Then, at 9 a.m., the program officially kicks off, highlighting various social enterprises grouped into sectors such as food and beverage, health, wellness and tech and manufacturing. Industry leaders will be on hand to introduce these sessions, shedding light on the challenges, opportunities and pathways to growth and innovation within the social enterprise space. After lunch, the event will wrap up with presentations and closing remarks at 3 p.m., followed by a happy hour celebration with drinks and snacks â a perfect opportunity for networking and making valuable connections. In light of the current COVID situation, organizers are encouraging attendees to wear masks, prioritizing safety. And, to sweeten the deal, they're offering free parking. I'm contemplating my attendance as well, although I'll need to work out a pickup schedule for my kids on that day. Parents can definitely relate to that challenge! đ Will you be there?
