How is the Polar Vortex Linked to Climate Change?

Certain people are already saying that the current polar vortex crisis in the United States proves that renewables are not reliable or that climate change is a hoax. No doubt we will see more snowballs brought into congress. In fact, what everyone is suffering through here is climate chaos. According to Olivia, everything is now unstable; the winds used to act like a refrigerator door and keep everything up north, but now somebody opened it and all the cold air spilled out on to the floor and flowed south. (I am a sucker for fridge analogies.)
