How high is the hurdle? The campaign to remove Mayor LaToya Cantrell scored a win in court Monday after a judge refused to throw out a lawsuit against the registrar of voters. The recall effort says the number of signatures required to call an election is artificially high because the registrar hasn't purged the rolls of inactive voters, and the judge's decision means both sides can now argue that point. Meanwhile, recall organizers still won't say how many signatures they've gathered. Matt Sledge has the details. 'I want the videos': A Jefferson Parish Sheriff's deputy shot and killed Kevin Veal Saturday morning, and Sheriff Joe Lopinto says his deputies were fired upon first. Now Veal's relatives say they want to see the body camera and surveillance footage of the killing. Michelle Hunter has the story.
