Should transmission providers, like MISO, be subject to fines of up to $500 per day if interconnection studies are not completed by a certain deadline? Today, transmission providers must make “reasonable efforts” to conduct interconnection studies in a timely fashion, but that rule doesn’t seem to be cutting it. The backlog of interconnection customers is enormous! To address the backlog, FERC is proposing a fine for delayed studies and wants industry to comment. Read more in our lead article today. |
