NATIONAL: Omni Hotels and Resorts has announced two senior leadership promotions. Brent Lessing, who has been with Omni since 2019, has been appointed chief information and digital officer, and Natalie White, who is new to Omni, has been appointed to vice president of CRM and loyalty. CHICAGO: Tamara Jones has been promoted to senior director, conventions and trade show sales, at Choose Chicago, where she’ll be representing and selling Chicago’s convention citywide packages with a focus on large-scale medical, sports and other key association meetings at McCormick Place. She will also be leading the for-profit trade show sales efforts. Jones was recently elected treasurer of PCMA’s Greater Midwest Chapter. DALLAS/FORT WORTH: The Echo Lounge & Music Hall, a new music club In Dallas’s design district, will open on Nov. 1. The Live Nation concert venue, developed in partnership with Mark Cuban and the Dallas Mavericks, can hold 1,000 people. Nineteen artists are already slated to perform, with more shows and details to be announced soon. LEESBURG, VA: The National Cherry Blossom Festival, sponsored by Chase, is holding its tree-planting ceremony in Oxon Run Park at 9 a.m. today. Organizers aim to plant at least 30 trees in honor of the first 30 children who received a badge through the festival's Blossom Kids program. The trees will be ready for the annual festival, held in the spring from March to April. SAN FRANCISCO: Sustainability focused luxury platform Toward will open an anti-greenwashing shopping experience in San Francisco from Nov. 5-14. Consumers will be able to shop responsibly created items, while also being educated on what responsible fashion means.
