| | Maintaining the Flow of Critical Clinical Supplies Despite Global Challenges |
| Maintaining a reliable flow of clinical supplies to trials around world has become more challenging due to COVID-19, however there are steps that sponsors can take to help keep studies on track. Catalent has been working with customers to overcome logistics disruptions using our clinical supply management expertise, leveraging our global network and maintaining close communication with our customers, project managers and supply chain experts.
Direct-to-patient (DTP) distribution of clinical supplies is an additional important service that can help enable current and prospective patients to receive their treatments at home to alleviate travel needs. In normal practice, a provision for DTP must be included in the approved study protocol. However, in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, regulatory requirements concerning the use of DTP are, in some cases evolving rapidly on a country-by-country basis.
Catalent's DTP service, FlexDirect™ may be an option for sponsors seeking to enhance the flexibility of their clinical trial supplies.
