| | Celebrities haven't exactly been the most beloved folks in the Covid-19 pandemic. As first responders and social justice advocates have risen to national or even global prominence in this crisis, Hollywood stars have looked increasingly vapid and detached through their social media postings. (Who wants to join me in a rousing rendition of "Imagine" from the side of our Olympic-sized swimming pools? Anyone?) But Geico shows that celebrities can still fuel an ad campaign without making viewers want to wheel out the guillotines. In a campaign that launched this summer, the insurer and partner The Martin Agency has featured celebrities like Idina Menzel and DJ Khaled offering highly personalized service. The newest spot, launching today, features the timeless and ageless John Stamos, showing that he's been spending his quarantine like the rest of us—honing his arts and crafts. Check out the new spot (and the earlier ones) from the campaign and learn from the agency team about how they struck the right balance between star power and humility.
