FORT MEYERS, FLA.: Luminary Hotel & Co. has reopened following Hurricane Ian and is ready to welcome guests back to all of its dining outlets (with the exception of The Silver King Ocean Brasserie) with limited menus and hours. Guest rooms at the hotel are currently occupied by emergency response personnel working to restore the area’s power and infrastructure as quickly as possible. Luminary is also currently assessing the recently opened Caloosa Sound Amphitheater and its technical infrastructure.
PHILADELPHIA: Last week, the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society announced that tickets are now on sale for the 2023 Philadelphia Flower Show, The Garden Electric. This introductory pricing will offer tickets at the show’s lowest price ($38.50 for single admission) and for a limited time only. The Garden Electric will take place March 4-12, 2023 at the Pennsylvania Convention Center. Tickets can be purchased online via the show’s website.
SAVANNAH, GA.: Historic downtown luxury property Perry Lane Hotel has announced the appointment of Dan Herget as executive chef. Herget, who has over two decades of industry experience, was most recently at The Standard Spa Miami Beach. He has already launched new brunch and dinner menus at Perry Lane’s signature restaurant, Emporium Kitchen, with highlights that include lobster croque madame and vegan biscuits and gravy. TAMPA, FLA.: Tampa-based hospitality company Mainsail Lodging & Development has appointed Jason Perkins as general manager of The Karol Hotel, the first Tribute Portfolio hotel in Pinellas County, Fla. Perkins is replacing Adam Duffey, who is now the new general manager of the historic Fenway Hotel in Dunedin, Fla. Both will oversee hiring, training, and day-to-day operations at their respective properties, while maintaining implementation of Mainsail’s service strategies and initiatives to exceed guest expectations and increase market share. WHITE PLAINS, N.Y.: David Burke Hospitality Management (DBHM), the restaurant operating and consulting company helmed by international award-winning chef David Burke, announced that it has signed an 11-year lease with Renaissance Hotel Partners for a 7,900-square-foot space at The Opus, Westchester. There, DBHM will open Red Horse by David Burke, a 200-seat modern American steakhouse with Asian accents. It aims to open in early January 2023.
