GLOBAL: Global hospitality company Convene announced it is opening a 45,000-square-foot meetings and events venue at Sancroft, St. Pauls in the City of London. The space will include a 900-person plenary room as well as six other unique meeting spaces that can hold a total capacity of 1,200 people. Convene, which designs and manages premium meeting, event, and flexible office spaces, hopes to open this new space in Q1 of 2024. DALLAS: Twelve participating Addison hotels are offering guest packages that include guaranteed entry into the limited-capacity Addison Circle Park for Addison Kaboom Town! on July 3. Addison Kaboom-Town! is one of the nation’s largest fireworks shows with more than a half-million tourists traveling to the area to witness the spectacle. The hotel package includes guaranteed admission to the park for up to six guests through a designated park entrance fast lane. Participating hotels include Courtyard by Marriott Addison/Quorum Drive, Dallas/Addison Marriott Quorum by the Galleria, Hilton Garden Inn Dallas/Addison, and Holiday Inn Express & Suites Dallas North-Addison. MIAMI: Feeding South Florida is hosting a Wine and Bourbon Experience on Thursday, June 1 from 6-8 p.m. at Jaxson Maximus. The event intends to raise awareness and funds for the 1.1 million food-insecure individuals in South Florida. Tickets are $75 per person and include four tastings and appetizers, as well as the opportunity to participate in a silent auction for luxury items. NEW YORK: Leading contemporary art curator Connie Butler has been named director of The Museum of Modern Art PS1. Previously, Butler served as chief curator of drawings at MoMA from 2006-2013 before becoming chief curator at The Hammer Museum in Los Angeles from 2013-2023. Butler will assume her role on Sept. 26, 2023. PHILADELPHIA: Michelin published its first Philadelphia destination guide this spring, dubbing the city as the "Frenchest American city" and saying it "offers the perfect compromise between American excess and European spirit."
