When Marni and Will Crutchley were searching for a home to accommodate their growing family, their mindset was 'you can renovate a house, but not a neighbourhood'. Taking their search to the Sydney suburb of Balmain, the pair came upon a former fire station-turned-residential terrace with a ramshackle assemblage of add-ons - but the street felt just right. Will, who works in construction, and his brother-in-law Ben Nemeny, an architect, teamed up in a collaborative renovation and extension that would match the property with the beauty of the street it sat upon. |
