Dear Friend, As we wrap up the work week, I want to take a moment to recognize Good Friday and wish you a very happy Easter weekend. For those of us who hold the Christian faith, Good Friday is a day of poignant sorrow and—at the same time—great joy. We mourn as we remember the brutal death our Lord suffered on the cross for our sake. But we also rejoice because we know that in just three days, we will celebrate His resurrection and victory over the grave. I believe the message of Good Friday is one that we all desperately need to hear—that even in the toughest of times, there is still hope. I know that to be the case because it has been our nation’s story since the very beginning. During what seemed like our most hopeless chapters—the War of Independence, slavery, or the Jim Crow era—progress was always just around the corner. The same rings true today. After a year of darkness, we are finally well on our way to recovery as vaccines are distributed, businesses are reopened, and families are reunited with vulnerable loved ones. It’s been a tough year, but this Easter I am grateful that hope is alive and well. God bless you and yours as we celebrate our Savior this weekend! Sincerely, |
