| | | | Tackling the digital divide through free devices Baltimore's city government is taking part in the nationwide Digital Inclusion Week by distributing 30,000 free Chromebooks to eligible households. This effort coincides with another by M&T Bank to provide 50 personal computers to local students and their families at an event in Westport tomorrow, according to a press release. The respective distributions aim to bridge the digital divide, particularly for lower-income households, by equipping them with essential technology tools. Each computer distributed at the Westport Homes Boys and Girls Club tomorrow at 5 p.m. also includes Junior Achievement's Finance Park Virtual financial education programming. Those looking to obtain a Chromebook through the city can make an appointment online. That effort is supported through a partnership with Baltimore City Information and Technology's Office of Broadband & Digital Equity and Enoch Pratt Free Library.
