How to Make a Mini Kiddie Kite
By katrine2706
It's a windy weekend, just perfect for flying a kite that my son has long been asking for. I have nothing in my pocket to buy those colorful kites in the store, but I have a brilliant idea on how to make it which I learned from my childhood.

Make girly pens with materials you can see at home or at work. This craft I'm going to make is made with some things I found around at work while I waited for the break time to be over.

You won't find my family eating a meal at home without a side of fresh herbs and veggies. They're tasty, great pallet cleansers, and fantastic for things like healthy blood glucose levels and aiding in digestion. With a few cuts of a knife and a water bath, you can create this eye-appealing edible centerpiece!
How to Reuse Your Canning Jar Lids for Crafts
By Sandi/Poor But Proud
I know from experience that jar lids get used just once, unless it's for a craft.

Make a cute paper weight to keep papers, or your kids' papers from flying everywhere especially when the fan is on or the air breeze is blowing in. You can apply this same concept to other animals too if you don't want a turtle.
By ShirleyE
This is so cute and so pretty. Use this envelope to send a message to someone you love dearly, or send a celebratory greeting. You could also use it as a gift tag or as a greetings card topper. Enjoy this fun easy craft idea.

Stained Glass Effect Using Cellophane
By Mamamuna
After moving into a 150 year old farm house, I wanted to enhance the beauty of the entry door but didn't want to disturb the old leaded glass window panes. I went to the Dollar Tree and purchased cellophane wrapping paper.
Use Spray Paint to Have a Choice in Planter Colors
By Ana
I love pastels! The one problem I have is I cannot find planters in pastel colors. I can find white ones that sometimes work. While out looking for inexpensive planters I found the size and price that I loved. One problem, the color only came in black! Here's how I transformed them to more of a shabby chic look, just by using spray paint.
Rocket Paper Twirler Room Decor
By 15mhhm15
This is a fun 2-for-1, craft project and it also doubles as a piece of room decor - featuring a space theme. My son loves space and rocket ships so we made this twirler room decor.

This Mother's Day it would be nice if you can easily preserve the flowers that you receive. These pretty paper flowers create lasting memories more than a fresh one and you can display it for as long as you want.

Use Notebook Spring to Sew Spiral Notebooks
By katrine2706
Its always hard for lefties to write with spiral notebooks. Plus, I hate those springs as they get distorted over time inside my bag. So, I got used to removing the springs and replacing it with yarn.
Fabric Rug: Felt Gymnasts Performing for Parents
By R Barbara
My granddaughter was visiting and looking through a craft book for children. She saw a pillow project made with burlap and felt. As I had no burlap in my fabric stash, we made a "rug" from pieces of cotton fabric.
Vintage Mixed Media Framed Roses
By Benetta
I am in the process of adding a few new elements to my home décor. The challenge is to try and upcycle old items, without breaking the bank in the process.

I love making my own designs for shirts and bags, but I don't like paying the price for custom printing. There's something super charming about being able to hand draw and print your own things. The design is dedicated to my mother, a heart with a big heart, so I've made us matching shirts!

Whenever I see abandoned broken doors or window panels, I instantly find treasure in them. I think they make beautiful pieces of art when repurposed. Here is a large paneled window piece painted on for the fall season.

My son had to make painted rocks for a project in his high school art class this year. He chose to do a design that incorporated 3 rocks. I am in love with these cherry blossom rocks and am so glad that he let me display them in the yard!

By Monica
This is a quilt I made using denim jeans and some flannel flat sheets.
By katrine2706
Another type of fun painting is string art. The designs formed look mostly like flowers.
Hands-on Interactive Learning Shapes
By 15mhhm15
There are tons of interactive hands on learning activity sheets that you can print out for free! My recommendation is to laminate these sheets. To make learning shapes more hands on and fun, you can add velcro dots on the shape.

Here's a cute little mouse your kids can make to wear, or to use as a gift for someone special, like grandma. Draw and cut a gumdrop shape from cardboard. The sample measures about 3 x 3 inches, is narrower at the top than the bottom and has rounded bottom corners.
By Sandi/Poor But Proud
I found this at Spenser's Alley, a wonderful craft "mini mall" here in Salem, OR where I live.
Ever wonder what you can do with blue jeans that have seen better days? Favorite blue jeans may not be suitable for reuse because of all the wear and tear.
Privacy Poncho for Bathing Suit Changes
By Donna
After being years out of school and gym/locker rooms, attending a Y to swim recently I felt shy to change in public and noticed other women there also felt self conscious and shy about changing out of their bathing suits in public. Use a beach towel to make a privacy poncho.

In addition to my simple green frame, I also made this super funky frame. I covered a photo frame mat in zen tangles and other little doodles. I absolutely love how it came out and I intend to make a few more in other sizes. I may even add some color to the next one. :)
