The Lord Chancellor's visit to Leeds This week, the Lord Chancellor Alex Chalk KC visited the new Leeds Employment Tribunal and Business and Property Court at West Gate, Leeds. He visited new hearing rooms which have been delivered as part of the 220 million funding for essential modernisation and repair work of our court buildings over two years. Nightingale Courts update A total of 20 Nightingale courtrooms across England and Wales will remain open in 2024, with the majority open until March 2025. These temporary courtrooms, across nine venues, will continue to be used by judges to hear cases ranging from shoplifting to family proceedings and small claims hearings. Catering services opportunities in the North West Were currently inviting expressions of interest from suppliers to provide catering services to court users at Bolton Crown and Magistrates Court and Manchester Crown Court (Crown Square). The two courts are busy buildings with a high level of footfall from professional users, judges, court staff, jurors and a range of other people using the sites.
