Their currency has fallen almost 45% against the US Dollar this year and as much as 20% in a week. Turkey’s citizens are already experiencing the difficulties carried by inflation. While salaries and monthly income of retirees remain practically unchanged, prices surge rapidly, protests are all around the country and there are shortages of essential goods such as medicine, medical equipment, electronics and commodities.
The situation has led a vast number of the population to migrate their savings into bitcoin, their best option to protect themselves from inflation, as it is the most accessible way to access hard assets. This is possibly a forewarning of what's to come for other countries with weakening currencies. |

HRF & Strike To Launch 3 Lightning Bounties of 1 Bitcoin
By Namcios The Human Rights Foundation is partnering with Strike, the Lightning Network payments platform, to launch a set of bounties for further development on the Lightning Network. With the objective of incentivizing the implementation of crucial features on open source wallets, together they announced they will be donating a total of 3 bitcoin for achieving each of the desired challenges.

These features will help the adoption of Bitcoin by allowing users to receives lightning tips on a fixed QR code without disclosing any secrets, improving interoperability with the US dollar and improving the privacy of transactions akin to cash.
