| Over the last few weeks, the Iranian-backed Hezbollah terrorist army has fired more than 350 rockets and missiles into northern Israel. Since the war with Hamas began in the south on October 7, Hezbollah has launched more than 4,000 rocket, missile, and other stand-off attacks.
Warning sirens have blared across the region from the Galilee to the Mediterranean. Israel’s missile defense systems have been tested again and again, shooting down many of the rockets headed for populated areas.
Yet, civilians and soldiers have been killed and wounded in the attacks. Homes, businesses, and military bases alike have been targeted and destroyed.
The conflict between Israel and Hezbollah has been escalating as attacks and counterattacks become the norm in the north. It is our hope and prayer that this conflict will not erupt into all-out war as it has with Hamas in the south. Hezbollah’s arsenal is far more worrisome, with close to 200,000 rockets and guided missiles.
About a quarter million people have been evacuated from northern Israel due to the nearly daily attacks. MAGEN DAVID ADOM, Israel’s emergency medical system, has tripled the number of paramedics and EMTs in the affected areas despite much of the population being relocated.
Every day, the attacks continue. And every day, MAGEN DAVID ADOM responds to each call for help with ambulances, Medicycles, helicopters, and every tool available to save lives.
However, to triple the number of ambulances in the north means those ambulances must come from somewhere. And with all of Israel on alert due to the war with Hamas in the south, resources are stretched thin. More ambulances are needed; more of everything is needed.
Please pray that the escalations stop, that full-out war can be avoided.
And please give to provide the medical supplies needed so that no paramedic or EMT in Israel ever must rush to the scene of an attack empty-handed or unequipped for what they are facing day and night.
