It's been a busy week, and you're a busy person, so let's boil it down to what you really need to know about this year's Super Bowl ads:
1. Most importantly, here's Adweek's gallery where you can watch all the ads we know about, of which there are...many.
2. My favorite so far is Amazon's Alexa ad featuring the unfairly attractive Michael B. Jordan. I have a feeling there'll be a few clucked tongues about objectification, but they're objectively wrong BOOM got em.
3. Can't get enough Super Bowl ad insight and debate? Well good news: Adweek's Big Game Summit virtual event is happening live on Thursday (tomorrow, as I write this). We've partnered with former rival turned secret lover USA Today, so the Ad Meter crew will be joining us—along with quite a few VIP brand marketers—to talk about the value and logistics of Super Bowl marketing. It's free, so go register!
4. Speaking of Adweek's Big Game Summit, I'll be there sharing the virtual stage with execs from YouTube and Hershey to learn more about how brands make the most of sports marketing via video. It'll be a blast, so make sure you're there. Need that free registration link again? I GOT YA, FAM.
5. Are you on Clubhouse? Have you been wondering how to use Clubhouse? Well come join me and my podcast co-host Ko Im, Adweek's community editor, for an evening Clubhouse discussion of Super Bowl ads Thursday night. It'll be 9 p.m. Eastern, 6 p.m. Pacific. Hope you can join! We'll have veteran Big Game ad creators and several other amazing presenters. Bring your questions!
6. Don't forget Super Bowl Bot. As you might know, we at Adweek created an AI to pitch Super Bowl ad ideas, and this year we've upgraded it to be 100 times more powerful as a content creation AI. That upgrade has made it slightly less of a psychopath, but it's also resulted in some disturbingly realistic pitches, including this legit winner for Spotify:
So make sure you're following Super Bowl Bot on Twitter so you can keep up with its pitches—and request one yourself!
7. Got plans for game night? It's going to be a weird year with a lot fewer Super Bowl parties, but I've got good news: Your ad nerd friends at Adweek will be there for you. We'll be blasting out tweets, Instagram stories, TikToks and more throughout the night, so look for the @Adweek handle everywhere and join your fellow marketing geeks for a fun night of real-time commentary.
See you then! (If not sooner, because I have to write this email every day between now and then.)
