Here’s Why You Need to Find Time for A Nap During the Busy Season
 
How much sleep do you get each night during the busy season? Researchers out of University of Nebraska—Lincoln found that planting, harvest and calving season shave off 28 minutes of farmer’s sleep each night.
 
 

A perfect stand sets the stage for high ear count at harvest. But what if, despite your best efforts, a stand starts out troubled? Don’t give up! Time is of the essence when rescuing a troubled stand, says Farm Journal Field Agronomist Ken Ferrie.

A yet-to-be-realized provision in the Inflation Reduction Act could be the key for farmers to engage in measuring the carbon intensity (CI) of their grain. “If you raise 200 bu. corn with a CI score of 0, that’s $1.57 per bushel and an extra $314 in value. Now, the ethanol plant isn’t expected to share 100%, but it could be 25% to 30%," says Paul Neiffer, a farm CPA.
