SALT LAKE CITY: Jill Lackey has joined Visit Salt Lake as convention sales director. Lackey worked for 22 years at Snowbird, where she held multiple sales-related positions, most recently as senior sales manager, handling an eight-state region. Prior to joining Snowbird, Jill worked at Michigan’s Iroquois Hotel and with Deer Valley Lodging. SAN DIEGO: Major League Soccer commissioner Don Garber has announced that the league’s 30th team will be established in San Diego in 2025. The team will play at the 35,000-seat Snapdragon Stadium at San Diego State University’s Mission Valley campus. Owned by Egyptian businessman Mohamed Mansour, San Diego Padres star Manny Machado, and the Sycuan Band of the Kumeyaay Nation, the first tribe to co-own a professional soccer team, the team is expected to be called the San Diego Football Club or the Football Club of San Diego. WASHINGTON, D.C.: Summer Restaurant Week, presented by Restaurant Association Metropolitan Washington (RAMW), officially returns Aug. 28 to Sept. 3. Participating restaurants will offer multicourse brunch and lunch menus for $25 per person and multicourse dinner menus for $40 or $55 per person for on-premises dining. Many restaurants will also offer cocktail, wine, and nonalcoholic pairings.
