Foster A well-balanced person is one who finds both sides of an issue laughable. ~Herbert Procknow As is often the case in my career as a Realtor, I was given strict instructions by the sellers: "Never let out the cat." Through numerous showings, I obeyed their instructions successfully. Then we had a buyer, and the home inspection was taking place. Five people were present: the home inspector, the couple buying the home, their Realtor and me. All of them were definitely cat people who petted and fussed over the cat. Even before we went inside, I gave them the dictum: "We must not let out the cat." Everyone got busy and somehow, you guessed it, the cat got out. I was the only one who noticed and knew it was my responsibility to catch the cat. I went outside and saw him rapidly circling the house. It was impossible for me to run in the grass in high heels. I felt panic rising just when he decided to sit down at the end of the driveway. I crouched and coaxed in my most alluring voice, "Here kitty, here kitty," over and over again. (Keep reading) |
