Helicopter crashes onto I-10

A helicopter smashed into the I-10 bridge over the Bonnet Carre Spillway yesterday, killing the lone pilot who was on board. The crash forced police to shut down the entire eastbound lane of the interstate, causing traffic havoc all the way from Baton Rouge to New Orleans. 


COVID shots in schools

Gov. John Bel Edwards said Tuesday that his administration was adding the COVID vaccine to the list of required shots students have to get to attend Louisiana schools. He did so despite the objections of many Louisiana legislators.

Vote-buying accusations

Federal prosecutors have charged a former police chief and current city councilman in Amite of a scheme to buy votes. It's believed to be connected with a years-long investigation into possible corruption there.
