Natalie Ive had been boiling eggs one morning when she suddenly stopped being able to speak and forgot how to use her phone.

In hindsight there were small signs something wasn't right months earlier.

But she'd never considered it was dementia. She was only aged in her 40s.

These are three things she now makes a priority. As a researcher, she says she knows they are vital.

On the topic of dementia, there's also a new tool that looks at clues in a person's medical records to diagnose cases that might otherwise be found much later.
