Sessions Sneak Peak!

CiviCRM is ever-evolving, and we'll show you ways that make your life easier than ever before to drive impact. Here’s a little sneak peak at some of the sessions we have in store:

Portals and Dashboards

Learn how to create self-service membership portals and customized dashboards tailored to different user roles within your CiviCRM system. We'll explore how to provide members direct access to view and manage their information—such as financial summaries, contact details, relationships and membership summary—through user-friendly interfaces.

Advanced Imports and Data Collection for Non-coders

It's easier than ever to connect outside systems to CiviCRM. We'll cover how to connect outside forms (Google Forms, WPForms, etc.) to CiviCRM. We'll also cover how to set up one-step imports without coding — to bring in your outside data from tools like Zeffy, Givebutter, and more.

How the German Day for Climate Democracy Brings Citizens in Exchange With Parliamentarians Using CiviCRM

This presentation gives an overview of how a complex scenario consisting of a campaign website, several landing pages with forms, and a video conferencing tool are tied together through CiviCRM. The successful dialogue format brings together citizens and parliamentarians to discuss matters of climate policy in a direct digital format. In 2024 more than 70 parliamentarians connected with over 1,100 people.

We will demonstrate from beginning to end how the process unfolds and components are connected through CiviCRM and finally, show charts of the whole set of data-streams to visualize all connected systems.

Success Story: How US Chess Federation Manages Memberships and More With CiviCRM

The US Chess Federation serves over 110,000 members and 1,300 affiliated clubs across the country. From preschoolers to seniors, their diverse membership base includes individuals, families, schools, and organizations—all managed efficiently through CiviCRM.

In this session, we’ll share how US Chess uses CiviCRM to power a wide range of operations including membership management, donations, governance, mass email marketing, and affiliate support. We'll highlight a custom-built vouchers feature that enables schools and clubs to distribute memberships to students—helping expand access to under-served communities.

Now Everyone Hates Big Tech: Pitching CiviCRM Just Got a Whole Lot Easier

Convincing people to use CiviCRM just got a whole lot easier! The current political environment in the US has put a spotlight on Big Tech, creating a unique opening for making the case for self-hosted CiviCRM (as well as other non-corporate technologies). We'll talk about the history of the nonprofit social justice sector's relationship with the Internet and how we may be returning to a time of heightened investment in open source options as organizations struggle to reduce their dependence on corporate technology.

"Nook" — Building a CiviCRM Case Management Tool With Lots of SearchKit, FormBuilder, & Entity Framework v2...But No CiviCase

For the past 12 months Outlandish Cooperative has been building a case management portal for UK Community Energy groups based on CiviCRM.

The result is "Nook" - a CiviCRM extension which uses a lot of the flexibility provided by SearchKit and FormBuilder to provide a very tailored case management experience.

This will reveal an interesting example of "what's possible with CiviCRM," and in the hope there are things other can take/build further on; reflect on findings from our user research phase; discuss some of our learnings from the build - the criticality of design; balancing customizability / usability / budget; SearchKit and FormBuilder (almost) everywhere; why no CiviCase; onboarding new developers to CiviCRM during the project; using Standalone.

Stay tuned for the complete lineup as we get closer!

Admin Training: Agenda and Presenters Announced

CiviCon 2025 kicks off with a two-day Admin Training, May 19th and 20th, aimed at folks much like yourself, who need to manage CiviCRM on a day-to-day basis.

We're happy to announce the lineup of speakers and topics for this Training.

Noah Miller
Noah Miller

Noah is a CiviCRM consultant and frequent contributor of improvements to the software. He studied cognitive science and music as an undergrad, then jumped into the world of nonprofit science journalism, where he built his first Drupal websites and CRM databases. He founded a project called outLoud Radio in 2002 to support LGBT+ youth in empowering themselves by telling their stories, and grew the organization over the next 12 years. For the last decade, drawing on his experience using CiviCRM and website platforms for his own social justice nonprofit, he has been helping other organizations get the most out of these powerful technologies.
