Business leaders exchange views with EU officials

A delegation of 35 business leaders from our Advisory and Support Group, headed by our President Fredrik Persson and Director General Markus J. Beyrer, met with EU representatives on 16 November in Brussels.
A wide range of topics was discussed, including the economy, the Green Deal, trade, enlargement and EU budget with Executive Vice-Presidents Valdis Dombrovskis and Maroš Šefčovič, Commissioners Johannes Hahn and Paolo Gentiloni, and the Director General
of the Directorate-General for Neighbourhood and Enlargement Negotiations, Gert Jan Koopman. The meetings took place at the Berlaymont building, headquarters of the European Commission.

Discussing economic security

Our members met with European Commission Executive Vice-President Valdis Dombrovskis to discuss economic security on 15 November. European business' main messages were: we need the right balance between security, openness and competitiveness; de-risking strategies depend on new market opportunities for companies; new measures should be proportionate, targeted and precise; and business engagement is key.
