Message to EU Labour Ministers - A strong economy is the basis for continued social progress

BusinessEurope Director General, Markus J. Beyrer, stressed that the next EU strategic agenda will make Europe successful again if it focuses on five points: put in place a strategy to rejuvenate our Single Market, deliver less and smarter legislation, turn the Green Deal into a real EU growth strategy, harness the growth and employment potential of digitalisation and AI, and improve economic security and

market diversification through an ambitious trade agenda. Beyrer also stressed that the social policy chapter should prioritise tackling the labour and skills shortages which are undermining economic growth and social progress in Europe, facilitating mobility within the Single Market (including through the introduction of an e-declaration for postings), and creating the conditions for stronger social dialogue across Europe.
