Paying into it: The worst internship in NYC When youâre on the hunt for a job, itâs only natural to turn to job boards like Indeed for prospects. Unfortunately, so many people are looking for work that scammers have plenty of chances to extort money from people. A perfect example is a recent job listing found in New York City for a Data Analyst internship position. While these kinds of jobs are sought-after by recent college graduates seeking career paths, not all of them pay. But this job goes even further by stating its compensation as a âreverse-financed internship.â According to the listing, you have to pay them $15 an hour to work there â and full-time to boot! This means a worker âemployedâ by this âcompanyâ would have to pay $2,400 each month for âexposureâ and âexperience.â Only in NYC ⦠Maybe they can hire some rats for the job.
