We’re coming to you with a special edition of “Watching the Royals” today in the aftermath of Oprah’s interview with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle last night. It was the kind of gigantic TV event people will be talking about for years — and definitely had shades of Princess Diana’s watershed moment in 1995.
It's hard to know where to start. The most shocking part of the interview was when Meghan talked about her mental health struggle, and the Royal Family's lack of assistance when she had suicidal thoughts. One of the most distressing parts was when the couple revealed that Archie had received racist treatment from a royal before he was even born.
Meghan and Harry opened up about intense pain and hurt, decades-long grudges and recent offences. They also talked about the joys of parenting, and about their baby who's due this summer.
