Neighbour Day - get $50 to host a get together
Neighbour Day is on Sunday 26 March and presents a great occasion to connect with your neighbours.
Take advantage of the City's Neighbourhood Networking Fund in which residents can apply for a $50 voucher to hold a small event such as a barbecue on the verge, a picnic in the park, or a morning tea!

Cockburn Community Storytelling Workshops - what's your story?
Storytelling is a great way to get your message across in a way that people can connect with your point of view. Listeners connect with stories emotionally, associating their feelings with their learning. And sharing your personal story can be a transformative and empowering experience!
Cockburn residents are invited to attend a Community Storytelling workshop hosted by an experienced Perth-based storyteller who will share techniques to find and craft your story.

City of Cockburn celebrates Harmony Week
Did you know City of Cockburn is the most culturally diverse local government area in the South Metro? Our cultural diversity is at the heart of who we are as is part of what makes Cockburn the best place to be.
Harmony Week runs from 20-26 March and celebrates our diversity and brings together Australians from all different backgrounds. Take the time to engage with Harmony Week. You could: Wear orange: Orange is the colour of Harmony Week as it represents social communication and meaningful conversations Talk and share stories: One in two Australian's wore born overseas or have at least one parent who was. Learn about your cultural heritage and ask your friends and colleagues about theirs. Attend a Harmony Week event: There are so many grass roots Harmony Week events happening with community groups, businesses and schools. Attend something happening in your community. Free community event: Harmony Fair
Join us in the courtyard between Spearwood Library and the Cockburn Seniors Centre for a Harmony Week Fair, celebrating our multicultural community.
Monday 20 March
1-5pm on the grassed area outside the Spearwood Library
(9 Coleville Crescent Spearwood) Dance performances including Indian, Belly dancing and Zumba Library Comes Alive – hear stories from aaround the globe, and book a session to hear about the ‘elephant in the room’ topics (see topics and booking links below) Nyungar straw weaving with artist Sharyn Egan Moroccan food truck with some tastings Veggie and Recipe swap and share Hair braiding Take a virtual tour of the Henderson Waste Recovery Park at our Waste Education stall. Harmony Week + Neighbour Day resident networking celebration
The City of Cockburn resident group network is hosting a resident networking event in celebration of culture and community.
Thursday 23 March, 6-8pm at Lakelands Hockey and Sporting Facility, 84 South Lake Drive, South Lake
Come along and join us for a cultural feast and to meet Cockburn resident groups, cultural and religious organisations - and your neighbours.
