The lead developer of the Hard Rock Hotel is working on a new project in a former downtown office building just two blocks from where the Hard Rock collapsed while under construction in 2019. Mohan Kailas and his partners in the new venture are planning to a downtown skyscraper into a mixed-use hotel complex. Stephanie Riegel has the story. The murder rate is down, but crime continues to plague New Orleans, this time in the form of a visitor who had his life cut short by gun violence.
