Dear Friends, Happy Independence Day! Today is a celebration of our country’s past, present, and future. 243 years ago, the original 13 colonies (including South Carolina!) adopted the Declaration of Independence and cemented their freedom from a government that had previously denied the rights that had been endowed upon them by their Creator. This brave act was the foundation for the principles that we hold dear today: that all men are created equal and that they have the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Throughout our history, our countrymen have risen to the task, fought hard, and succeeded in keeping those who would do us harm at bay. As we celebrate our independence and enjoy time with our friends and families this Fourth of July, let us remember those who have served and continue to serve our great nation. Without the sacrifices of our brave men and women in uniform, we would not be able to enjoy and celebrate the unalienable rights that make our country so special. I hope you enjoy today and are safe in your celebrations! God Bless the United States of America. Sincerely, Tim |
