PICKS OF THE WEEK

Vincent William Wine

Put Vincent William Wine in Madison on your summer bucket list. Before you turn up your nose at the Ohio wine reference, know that the restaurant, wine bar and inn are in an extravagant mansion on the shore of Lake Erie. The expansive views from inside are breathtaking, while views from multi-layered deck outside are even better. And, oh, the fine dining menu in the restaurant has Italian-inspiration given that the chef and the owners have some Italian heritage. You’ll find pesto flatbread, Nona’s meatballs, osso bucco and chicken piccata as well as burger, pork chop, salmon and scallops. Don’t miss the croissant bread pudding with caramel gelato. It’s enough for three or four people. The gelato is a delightful surprise. -- Paris Wolfe -- DETAILS

Luciano’s

The space at Luciano’s is kind of famous. Chrissie Hynde had a restaurant there. Restaurateur Dante Boccuzzi had DBA. Now it’s a cool spot – Luciano’s, with hustling bartenders, a great wine list, nibbles like melt-in-your-mouth beef carpaccio and Fat Head’s Head Hunter in cans. The open-air, inside-outside bar is great this time of year. It’s at 21 Furnace St., Akron. -- Marc Bona DETAILS

Juneberry Table

Juneberry Table has been open for three years now, but the weekend buzz for the small hole-in-the-wall breakfast and lunch spot remains consistent. When you’re lucky enough to snag a seat in the cozy neighborhood space, it’s a thing of cafe magic. The West Side restaurant has a killer weekend brunch menu with biscuits and gravy with mushrooms, French toast with blueberries and Nutella and a mouth-watering smash burger. Its small, but mighty cocktail list and impressive wine bottle selection also make it a destination worth waiting for. Juneberry Table is at 3900 Lorain Avenue in Cleveland. -- Alex Darus DETAILS
